Frequent questions
I bought Premium and it isn't active
The purchase belongs to the store account that paid for it, not to the phone. Open Profile → A little more Mizu and tap Restore my purchases, signed in with the same Google or Apple account you used. That covers a new phone, a reinstall, or a change of account.
If nothing comes back, email me the store account address and the approximate purchase date.
I'm changing phones: how do I keep my journal?
On the old phone: Profile → My data → Export my data. Mizu makes a .json
file you can keep anywhere (Files, Drive, an email to yourself).
On the new one: Profile → My data → Import a backup, then pick that file. Importing replaces the existing journal. Premium is not in the file: get it back with Restore my purchases.
My reminders don't arrive
Three things to check, in this order:
- in Mizu, Profile → Notifications: reminders are on, and the current time is inside your hours;
- in your phone settings, Mizu is allowed to send notifications;
- Do Not Disturb and Focus modes silence them, and on Android battery savers can delay or drop a reminder.
Where is my data, and how do I delete it?
On your phone, inside the app: no account, no Mizu server. You can delete a drink from the day's journal, and erase everything by uninstalling the app or clearing its data in your phone settings. Export first if you want to keep your history.
Apple Health and Health Connect
Sync is optional and off by default: Profile → Health connection. Once on, Mizu writes the volume of the drinks you log into your phone's health app, and nothing else. You can revoke access at any time in Apple Health, Health Connect or in Mizu.
Changing language, units or time format
Profile → Language and preferences: English or French, millilitres or ounces, 12- or 24-hour clock.
Does Mizu give medical advice?
No. Mizu is a drinks journal: the daily goal is a reference you choose and can change whenever you like. For advice about your own situation, talk to a healthcare professional.
